RE-introduction

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh and greetings.

Actually this isn't the first blog I've ever written. Those who have seen my previous blog would already know that. By the way, I've deleted my old blog and decided to create a new one. So why new blog? Well, I simply wanna start over. For starters, I think I wanna write RE-introduce myself in this first post on this new blog. This would be quite different from the introduction I made in my previous blog because I didn't really go basic on that one.

The name's Muhammad Aliff bin Ali, that explains the title of this blog. Just call me Aliff. Born January 8, 1992 in Tawau, Sabah. A Muslim and a Suluk (race). I'm actually half Arabian since my mother (born 1956) is an Arabian. My father (born 1948) is a pure Suluk. I'm the youngest out of five siblings. I have an elder brother (born 1979) and three elder sisters (born 1980, 1982, 1984). I speak mainly Malay and I speak English occasionally but when it comes to writing, English is my preference.

My formal education officially began when I went to St. Patrick Kindergarten, Tawau in 1998. Then I went to SK Bandar Tawau II from 1999 to 2004. I've had my high school years from 2005 to 2009 in SMK Kuhara, Tawau. From the end of May 2010 to the middle of April 2011, I've had a two-semester foundation program in PASUM (Pusat Asasi Sains Universiti Malaya/University of Malaya's Centre for Foundation Studies), studying Biological Science (consisting of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics). And on this coming September 2011, I'm gonna start my three-and-a-half-year Bachelor in Science (Biochemistry) program, also in University of Malaya.

I'm such a music listener and I mainly listen to mainstream pop. I'm a fan of music by the likes of Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Ciara, Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, Céline Dion, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, just to name a few. My favorite era of music would be the late 1990s and early 2000s. I also love to sing but it's not really a fixed hobby since I sing occasionally instead of doing it as a routine and I don't always find myself in the comfort zone to do it. I do have an interest in pursuing a career in music, particularly singing and producing. But actually I still have to take some time to figure out whether it really works for me. So in the mean time, I'm just experimenting with it.

I'm not much of a book person as I'm a random reader. Most of the things I read are from the Internet as I am a netizen. But when it comes to my studies, I have to turn to books as my main option. Internet helps too but not as much as books. I'm also not much of a movie person as I don't watch many movies. I do watch some and The Lord of the Rings trilogy would be one of my not-so-many favorites. I'm not very much into video games too. I can play some once in a while but I just can't stick to it long enough. When it comes to sports, it's not that I'm not interested. I did play a little bit of soccer in junior high but then I just left it without solid reasons. I learned a little bit of taekwondo when I was 16 but I had to let it go due to time management problems. Hopefully I'll be able to pick them up where I left them off in my upcoming college years.

I'm more of a TV kind of person. Among the TV shows that I find enjoyable to watch are The Nanny, Glee, That's So Raven, Lizzie McGuire, Ugly Betty, Ghost Whisperer, Heroes etc. I also enjoy live-action kids series and my favorite would always be the Power Rangers saga. I've watched several cartoons and animes in the past but the most memorable one for me would be Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. The Power Rangers and the Sailor Team have been such inspirations to me when I was growing up as a kid. They may be fictional characters but their messages on humanity have reached me in such positive ways through their virtues.

I guess that's all I gotta share for the RE-introduction. And with this post, I am officially back to blogging after eleven months of dormancy. And hopefully I'll be able to stick to it for a long time. Thank you for reading this post and feel free to check out the upcoming posts. Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
